Hey Changers!

First and foremost we really hope you're all well, and don't suffer too much from the restrictions and economic consequences of the limitations the government has put upon us to navigate this crisis.

Ripping the band-aid: We've had another extraordinary board meeting last Thursday and decided that we'll expand the closing time of the Center until the end of April.

How's this good news, you might ask?

Well, we just pushed an update to our page that allows our hosts to mark events as either cancelled, postponed or moved online. Check out our calendar to see what you can join from your home - and please read this blog post on why we encourage you to use our own server to host online meetings (no time limits and for free!) instead of Zoom, and how it works! Co-creator Josh set up a server we can use for all think-events, and here's the instructions :)

We'd love to add more events to our calendar that help people to navigate these times in a meaningful way, so if you feel inspired to host an online event yourself, please go ahead - and don't hesitate to get in touch with us if you need any questions answered first.

Support your local culture!

Many of you are experiencing financial consequences from this situation, and so do we. We are extremely grateful for those of you who keep supporting us despite the physical location being closed for the time being - we depend on all the support we can get during these times, and each of your contributions makes a difference.

We hope that everyone keeps in mind the following: whatever you're supporting during these times will define the world after this is all over. Order everything at Amazon and that's the world we'll get. Support your local business and you help them be part of The After.

Since we decided to expand the closing time of the physical Center for another month, we decided to pause all membership payments from the 01.04. (no joke! ;) - so we won't charge you any further membership fees until the lockdown is over.

You will, though, get the chance to support us anyways with a monthly contribution, with whatever amount you can afford (and for now, you can always drop us a donation to MobilePay No 127888)!

Martin is currently working on an update that allows a flexible membership fee where each of you can choose how much you want to give, and we'll send out another mail to our members explaining the update as soon as it's online.

Kulturpris FTW!

Last week, we received the amazing news that we've been nominated for the Oesterbro Kulturpris for the second time in a row - we're so excited!

Thanks so much to those of you who nominated us! It would make a huge difference for us to win this price, and I'm already dreaming of the great party we'd throw to celebrate it - I don't want to be too arrogant about it, but hey it can't hurt to give the universe a little push ;)

In any case, we're super happy about the nomination and proud to be listed as one of the main contributors strengthening the cultural scene in Oesterbro. We really hope that the award ceremony on the 22.4. can actually take place - we'll keep you updated in case it will be postponed.

So - what are we doing about COVID-19?

As much as we'd love to slow down and use this time to turn inwards, we couldn't help to work on a campaign page related to the pandemic situation. We are as much concerned as we are excited about the possibilities this situation is offering, and we felt a strong urge to create something meaningful to help people navigate this lockdown.

We shared the manifest for the healing potential of Corona with you yesterday, and we'd love you to put your name underneath it so we can motivate more people to join the commitments. We want this manifest to be inspiring to as many people as possible, so any sharing is strongly encouraged and appreciated! We hope you will find some meaning and helpful resources in it <3

The same goes for the sustainable financial aid plan - we believe that freezing debts and cancelling rents is a much more meaningful aid package than the one the government is offering now, and we hope you agree and share the idea, discuss it on SoMe, spread the word. We have to get active to turn this ship into the right direction - it won't happen by itself. It's in our power :)

Thanks for reading!

If you feel like some more: if found the perspective Charles Eisenstein recently shared on this pandemic truly inspiring, and it saved me from keeping to spend hours everyday trying to follow the never ending news stream. Finally a holistic view of the situation :)

Take care of yourself and those around you. And if you are inspired to contribute to our brand new blog area, feel free to send us whatever content you want to share with the community and the world!

Much love,

Anja
