This is lecture #2 of our Holistic Web Development – Programming Course I. The lectures can also be attended individually.

Get to know the whys and hows of the parentNode approach to web development and the parentNode web stack. The sum of 20 years of web development shared with anyone who wants to become a more sustainable developer and collaborator.

We will go through the parentNode nuances of the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MariaDB and PHP), that lies beneath the parentNode tools and along with which, make up the parentNode framework.

The parentNode approach is defiant. It chooses quality over quantity, end-users over developers, understanding over memorization and long-term solutions over short-term hacks, because focusing on the latter(s) generally tend to backfire sooner or later. These principles define the choices we make and the way we work.

After this event you will also be provided with the means of setting up the parentNode development environment on your own computer, and to install and secure the production environment on a cloud based Linux box for live web hosting.

After the presentation we will have an open table discussion about the pros and cons of the parentNode web stack.
