Since 2010, Marc Facchini has been a significant artist on the Danish music scene; initially with the psychedelic rockers Mescalin Baby, then with the indie-classical ensemble Mother Lewinsky, and now as a solo artist with three acclaimed albums, a Danish Grammy nomination, and a string of live shows on his resumé.
The newest release, Himmelmekanik from April 2018, received the following credentials from Danish newspaper Information: ”In a balanced musical interaction between resounding agitation and intimate minimalism, Danish-Italian Marc Facchini shows with his third album, that he is a songwriter of high karat. Rarely has Danish folk music sounded so present and necessary.” The album was presented online in a very special form, so you should really have a look ;)
Marc Facchini has a declared intention to develop the Scandinavian songwriting tradition, to fit new generations under new circumstances. ”I want to make songs, which in a modern way relate to the treasury of magical Scandinavian folksongs from the past 50 years. Today there is shorter from Thisted to Tokyo than ever before. When I deal with something as boxy as Scandinavian songwriting, it makes sense to me to incorporate Estonian minimalism, Southeastasian Sufi-song, and Mali blues, because all those things are part of how Scandinavia sounds today.”
When performing at our community living room, Marc Facchini will be performing along with renowned violinist Maria Jagd.
Music is not just entertainment. It has the ability to induce feelings, to inspire and to connect people. That’s why once a month we enrich our rooms with beautiful sounds and inspiring lyrics, supporting independent musicians to share their talent and reach a community that is interested in musical art outside the big business.
We don’t limit the bandwidth through focusing on specific genres – anything can happen. We support all kinds of soul-touching sounds that deserve a platform with good intentions. We want to induce reflection, give room for active listening and support the inner balance of our audience by encouraging them to use all senses and experience what happens in the moment.
Take the time to consciously listen and embrace the art that is served to you. Join the dialogue with the artist, who are sharing their creations right in front of you, in the most cozy living-room atmosphere, and connect with other open-minded guests over an organic beer or glass of wine from our bar.
